Three Teasing Tales

A Book of
Three Teasing Tales

Three stories shaped by ambition, uncertainty, love, conflict, and the plans life makes for us.

This collection includes Oakwood Mills, The Thirteenth Legion, and Jillina’s Horse.

“These three unforgettable tales remind us that life has plans of its own.”

TALE ONE

Oakwood Mills

Oakwood Mills is the kind of place where reputations are respected, and everyone believes they know their neighbors. This first tale centers around the arrival of a retired lawyer as a new resident. With a less than savory background, he is oblivious to the brash, egotistical, and self-important impressions he is making.

His social maneuvering to ingratiate himself into the established upper-class adult community is exacerbated by his unsavory past, which is starting to slowly unravel. The uncomfortable atmosphere his behavior is generating has increased to a point where other residents are thinking about a calming solution. An event materializes which mysteriously enables the community to benefit from an unexpected permanent solution.

TALE TWO

The Thirteenth Legion

Two U.S. combat veterans are determined to find a place in Hollywood as movie extras. Recruited as extras and military advisors for an unfinished screenplay, they travel to an undisclosed location expecting little more than another film production.

Instead, they find themselves drawn into a series of events so convincing that the line between fiction and reality begins to disappear, placing them at the center of circumstances neither man could have imagined. Drawing upon their combat experience, they begin issuing a series of orders to their fellow actors portraying soldiers, believing they are simply directing preplanned battlefield maneuvers to achieve the result the director has requested. What they do not realize is that the consequences of their decisions extend far beyond the movie set, leading to an extraordinary and unexpected conclusion.

TALE THREE

Jillina’s Horse

Follow two possibly star-crossed college students, Jillina and Alex, whose lives take unexpected turns. Their story unfolds alongside Ellene and Laus, a couple seemingly destined never to be together; a close-knit group of sorority sisters; a father determined to see his son pursue a military career; and two powerful Kings whose rivalry threatens to ignite a war between neighboring Greek city-states.

At the heart of it all stands a remarkably strong-willed mother, convinced she alone can prevent disaster. As the boundaries between myth, history, and modern life begin to blur, love, loyalty, sacrifice, and destiny collide in a story with an unforgettable conclusion.

Three very different worlds. Three unexpected turns.
One collection about what happens when life refuses to follow the plan.

Discover all three teasing tales.
